Although he suffered his sixth loss, Josh Beckett allowed Chicago just three runs on six hits over seven innings. The Red Sox, who hold a 2 1/2-game lead over the Rangers in the AL Wild Card race, got an RBI single from Kevin Youkilis in the first, but they would manage nothing more against White Sox ace Mark Buehrle.
