No spoiling for Twins
Red Sox 5, Twins 2
Nick Punto retires Dustin Pedroia on a fielder's-choice play at second. (Charles Krupa/AP)
The Twins found themselves in an early hole at Fenway Park after rookie starter Kevin Slowey gave up a pair of RBI hits in the bottom of the first inning. Justin Morneau hit his 31st homer of the year and Brian Buscher knocked in another run in the seventh, but the two runs were too little, too late for the Twins against Daisuke Matsuzaka.
