Donnie Murphy hit a three-run home run and Mike Piazza moved into 39th place on the all-time list with his 427th homer, but the A's were stifled after Piazza's fifth-inning blast. Jerry Blevins took the loss after allowing all five batters he faced to reach in the sixth.
