Wakefield falls in opener
Blue Jays 6, Red Sox 1
Tim Wakefield allowed two of Frank Thomas' three homers on Monday. (Frank Gunn/AP)
Tim Wakefield couldn't snap out of his slump on Monday, and Frank Thomas stole the show in the opener vs. the Blue Jays. Wakefield gave up two of Thomas' three homers on the night, and the Boston bats were stifled by Dustin McGowan. Mike Lowell's RBI double scored the Sox's only run.
