The Red Sox used a five-run fourth inning to take a lead they would never surrender and hand Jon Lester his second victory of the season. Jonathan Papelbon struck out three of the four batters he faced to become the first pitcher in club history to record at least two 30-save seasons.

Sonnanstine sinks Rays By Bill Chastain / MLB.com
Carlos Pena smacked his career-best 28th long ball, and Akinori Iwamura added a three-run tater, but Rays starter Andy Sonnanstine was roughed up by the Red Sox. The right-hander fanned five batters and walked none, but he yielded seven runs on eight hits over five innings.
