Cliff Lee retired the side in order to begin the game, but he allowed Boston to score in the next two frames and didn't make it out of the fifth. He and the relief corps combined to allow 14 runs. The Indians rallied for four runs in the fifth and another four in the seventh, but it wasn't enough.
