Before the rain ended his night, Josh Beckett was unstoppable on the mound and at the plate, as the righty hurled six innings of shutout ball and also contributed an RBI double. David Ortiz produced the Red Sox's first run on a solo blast in the fourth.

One night after the Braves roughed up the Red Sox in the opener, Atlanta had a tough time scoring runs off right-hander Josh Beckett, who came out after six innings following a 48-minute rain delay. Tim Hudson started the contest for the Braves, but the righty hurled just 5 1/3 innings, giving up all four runs on nine hits.
