Ranaudo fires seven scoreless frames for PawSox

Right-hander Anthony Ranaudo, the Red Sox's No. 8 prospect, threw seven scoreless innings Monday as Triple-A Pawtucket defeated Durham, 10-0, in Pawtucket.

Ranaudo, ranked No. 92 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, held Durham hitters to three hits and two walks. He struck out five batters and worked efficiently, needing just 90 pitches to match his longest start of the season.

Third baseman Garin Cecchini, the Red Sox's No. 4 prospect and No. 48 on the Top 100, doubled and scored a run. Catcher Christian Vasquez, the club's No. 10 prospect, added three runs in the victory.

Monday was Ranaudo's third start of seven scoreless innings this season. He earned the victory and has now won four consecutive decisions, a streak that spans five outings and dates back to June 6. During his winning streak, he has an 0.85 ERA and a 0.66 WHIP.

Overall this season, Ranaudo is 9-4 and ranks fifth in the International League with a 2.35 ERA. He has struck out 81 batters and walked 42 in 95 2/3 innings.
