Executive Vice President/General Manager Ben Cherington made the announcement.
Mortensen, 28, threw a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout to keep the score tied at six in last night's 14-inning, 10-8 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. He was recalled by Boston on May 9, and appeared in two games, going 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA (2 ER/2.0 IP) with one walk, and two strikeouts. In his 16 games for Pawtucket this season, De La Torre posted a 2-1 record with a 2.17 ERA (7 ER/29.0 IP), 17 walks, and 32 strikeouts.
