100th Anniversary Celebration of Fenway Park to Conclude with Tribute to the 2004 World Champions and Presentation of the All-Time Fenway Park Team During Final Two Home Games of the Regular Season
BOSTON, MA – To conclude the season-long 100th Anniversary Celebration of Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox will pay tribute to the 2004 World Champions and present the All-Time Fenway Park Team during the final two games of the regular season, September 25 and 26, respectively.
The team that shocked the baseball world with an historic comeback has been invited to be honored before the 7:10 p.m. game against the Tampa Bay Rays. All uniformed personnel from that season have been invited.
The All Fenway Team comprises the greatest Red Sox players in Fenway Park history as determined by fans voting, historians, staff, and the club's historical and archival consultants. Fans cast more than 120,000 votes in balloting this season. Members of that team will be presented before the regular season home finale, which also begins at 7:10 p.m. against Tampa Bay.
While the club will continue its 100 Acts of Kindness program throughout 2012, these two celebrations mark the conclusion of the 100th Anniversary tributes presented during the season at Fenway Park.
