But Boston is also on the other end of the record, having lost 10 straight postseason games to the A's from 1988-2003.The Red Sox started their current 10-game win streak in 1986, when the Angels were one strike away from winning the AL pennant before Dave Henderson's homer rallied the Sox in Game 5. The Red Sox won the game, and the next two.
Two years later, the Red Sox began a 10-game skid against the A's when they were swept in the ALCS. The Red Sox were again swept in 1990 and lost the first two games of the 2003 ALDS before winning three straight to win the series.
Boston has swept the Angels in the ALDS twice this decade, in 2004 and '07. Both times, the Sox went on to win the World Series.
