Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield to fly with Blue Angels on Friday, Feb. 1

Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield is scheduled to fly with the United States Navy's Flight Demonstration Team Blue Angels on Friday, Feb. 1 at the team's winter headquarters at the Naval Air Facility El Centro, California.

Wakefield will ride in a two-seat Boeing F/A 18 Hornet under the command of Lieutenant Frank Weisser. The flight is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.

The Blue Angels perform Air Shows throughout the United States each year and are scheduled to perform at the Super Bowl on Sunday in Glendale, Arizona.
