MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers today named Brian Anderson their new television play-by-play announcer for games on FSN North, it was announced by Rick Schlesinger, Brewers Executive Vice President-Business Operations.

"Brian is a talented and gifted announcer. His style is engaging, his energy level is high, and he clearly is passionate about his work on and off camera," Schlesinger said. "His talents go well beyond describing the action as he gets the most out of his analyst partners and interview subjects. We believe that he and Bill Schroeder will be an outstanding team."

Anderson comes to the Brewers from the Golf Channel where he has worked as a play-by-play announcer since 2003. In his role there he served as a host for variety of the network's events including the PGA and Nationwide Tours. Anderson also has worked at FSN Southwest as a sideline reporter for the San Antonio Spurs since 1999.

From 1998 - 2000, Anderson handled Minor League and Little League baseball telecasts and received his start in baseball with the San Antonio Missions-the Double A affiliate of the San Diego Padres-where he served as a radio/television play-by-play announcer from 1994 - 1998 and from 2000 - 2003.

"By joining the Brewers television team, I have realized one of my lifelong goals of being a Major League Baseball play-by-play announcer," Anderson said. "In a relatively short period of time, I have learned a great deal about the Brewers and the city of Milwaukee, and I feel that this is an opportunity to join a great organization in a market that is very passionate about its baseball team."

Anderson was a member of the baseball team at St. Mary's University (Texas) and graduated Cum Laude from the school in 1993. His brother, Mike Anderson, had a stint in the Major Leagues with the Cincinnati Reds (1993) and is currently a pitching coach in the Texas Rangers organization.

Anderson, his wife, Michele, and daughter, Madeline, plan on relocating to Milwaukee from their current home in Georgetown, Texas.

Tomorrow, Anderson will be introduced to Brewers fans as he will host the "Winter Warm-Up" that will air on FSN North from 7 - 8:30 p.m.
