Major League Baseball announced today that Game 5, if necessary, of the American League Championship Series between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, originally scheduled to air at 4:00 p.m. (EDT) on Sunday, October 17, has been moved to 7:30 p.m. (EDT). Game 4 of the National League Championship Series would move to 4:00 p.m. (EDT).

If Game 5 of the ALCS is not played, Game 4 of the NLCS will be played at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).

"Due to the highly-anticipated rematch of last year's compelling seven-game American League Championship Series between the Yankees and Red Sox, we felt it was appropriate that this series, featuring one of the greatest rivalries in sports, be played in prime time," said Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig.

FOX Sports and ESPN Radio are the exclusive rightsholders of the League Championship Series, while MLB International will provide an independently produced world feed of the ALCS to rightsholders outside the United States.
