Red Sox respond to recent media inquiries
On behalf of Principal Owner John Henry, Chairman Tom Werner, and President/CEO Larry Lucchino, Senior Vice-President/General Manager Theo Epstein on Saturday provided the below response to the many inquiries they have
received regarding rumors of discussions with other clubs' players or representatives.
"We appreciate the inquiries and interest today, but we try to adhere to a policy of not commenting on trade rumors. Public speculation about player transactions, while a natural part of the Hot Stove Season, can be offensive and hurtful to our players. We respectfully cannot participate in the process of confirming or refuting trade rumors. Thank
you."
