ALDS tickets go on sale Friday

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox today announced that tickets for the first
two 2003 American League Division Series games that could be played at
Fenway Park will go on sale at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19. Major League
Baseball this week authorized several clubs to go on sale with postseason
In order to make the process as convenient as possible for fans, tickets
will be sold exclusively via the telephone and Internet. Approximately
9,000 tickets per game will be available by calling (617) 482-4SOX or on the
club's official Web site -- www.redsox.com. Tickets will not be available at
If the Red Sox win the American League East Division, they would host Game
1, Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 5 of the best-of-five A.L. Division Series.
Game 1 would be played Tuesday, Sept. 30. Game 2 would be played
Thursday, Oct. 2. Game 5 would be played Sunday, Oct. 6, and tickets
for that game would go on sale at a later date.
If the Red Sox earn the A.L. Wild Card, they would host Game 3 and Game 4
(if necessary) of the Division Series on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday,
Major League Baseball will announce starting times for all games at a later
Division Series ticket prices, established by Major League Baseball, are
virtually the same as regular season prices: $70 for box seats, $45 for
grandstand seats and $20 for bleachers and standing room. A $6 transaction
fee for each ticket and a $14 handling charge for each order apply. Fans
may purchase up to 4 tickets for one of the games per transaction.
Tickets for the Green Monster Seats will not be offered Friday. The club
will make an announcement next week on the availability of Green Monster
Seats for the Division Series.
If the Red Sox qualify for postseason play, on-sale dates for tickets for
the American League Championship Series and the World Series will be
announced at a later date.
