    The Washington Nationals today recalled RHP Aaron Barrett, LHP Xavier Cedeno, C Sandy Leon, 1B/OF Tyler Moore and RHP Blake Treinen from Syracuse of the Triple-A International League.

    The Washington Nationals today announced the signing of a two-year Player Development Contract extension (which begins in 2015) with the Hagerstown Suns of the Single-A South Atlantic League through the 2016 season.

    The Washington Nationals today selected the contract of outfielder Nate Schierholtz, optioned outfielder Michael A. Taylor to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League and placed outfielder Nate McLouth (right shoulder inflammation) on the 60-Day Disabled List.

    The Washington Nationals today announced the signing of a two-year Player Development Contract extension (which begins in 2015) with the Auburn Doubledays of the short-season Class A New York-Penn League through the 2016 season. Nationals President of Baseball Operations & General Manager Mike Rizzo, Nationals Vice President of Player Personnel Bob Boone, Assistant General Manager & Vice President of Player Development Doug Harris and Director of Player Development Mark Scialabba made the joint announcement.

    The Washington Nationals today agreed to terms with outfielder Nate Schierholtz on a minor-league contract. Schierholtz will be assigned to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
