  • Royals extend agreements with four Minor League affiliates

    The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have extended their Player Development Contracts with their minor league affiliates in Idaho Falls (Rookie) and Wilmington (A-Advanced) through the 2016 season, and with Lexington (A) through 2018. In addition, the club also extended its working agreement with Burlington (Rookie) through the 2016 season as well.

    The Kansas City Royals return home Monday for a ten-game homestand against the New York Yankees (August 25), Minnesota Twins (August 26-28), Cleveland Indians (August 29-31) and Texas Rangers (September 1-3).

    KANSAS CITY, MO (August 21, 2014) - The Kansas City Royals return home for a ten-game homestand to host the New York Yankees (August 25), Minnesota Twins (August 26-28), Cleveland Indians (August 29-31) and Texas Rangers (September 1-3). The single game against the Yankees is the make-up game from June 9 that was postponed due to rain and will have a 6:10 p.m. start time. In addition, the game against the Indians on August 31 has been selected for ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball." The game will be televised on ESPN2 and first pitch is now 7:07 p.m.

    The Kansas City Royals have been notified today that ESPN2 will televise the Sunday, August 31 game at Kauffman Stadium against the Cleveland Indians at 7:07 p.m. (CDT), thus moving the game time from the previously scheduled 1:10 p.m. start.
