Josh Reddick is back from the disabled list. The A's announced Tuesday that they have activated Reddick, who had missed the last three weeks while recovering from a hyperextended right knee. Oakland made room on the roster by placing Kyle Blanks on the DL with a strained left calf.
Reddick went on the disabled list June 3. The veteran outfielder was batting .214 with four home runs and 22 RBIs in 50 games at the time of his injury. He played four games for Triple-A Sacramento as part of his rehabilitation, batting .438 with three doubles.
Blanks, acquired from the Padres in May, has hit .333 with two home runs and seven RBIs in 21 games for Oakland. He hit .378 with a .500 on-base percentage over his last 18 games prior to his injury, and he'll be eligible to be activated from the disabled list on July 8.
