MINNEAPOLIS -- Jacoby Ellsbury's 22-game hit streak was snapped on Thursday as the Red Sox's center fielder went 0-for-3.

Was he disappointed by the end of his career's longest his streak?

"Not at all," Ellsbury said. "[Maybe] if I would have gone 0-for-5 and stranded a bunch of runners, but the most important thing is that we got the win."

Boston beat Minnesota, 3-1.

Ellsbury was hit in his last at-bat by Twins reliever Sean Henn in the seventh.

"With our lineup, I thought I'd get another stab at it," Ellsbury said. "But it's one of those things. Yeah, it would have been nice to get a fourth and fifth [at-bat], but most importantly we won. I look to start a new one tomorrow."

Ellsbury's streak was the longest by a Red Sox player since Kevin Youkilis hit in 23 straight from May 2-June 1, 2007.

The Red Sox had two streaks halted on Thursday. Dustin Pedroia's 10-game streak was snapped when he went 0-for-3. It was Pedroia's longest streak since he hit in 10 straight from July 29-Aug. 10, 2008.
