O's make September schedule change
Club will play twin bill on Sept. 6 to avoid conflict with Ravens
BALTIMORE -- Attempting to minimize the crowds and inconvenience for fans, the Orioles announced on Monday that their Sept. 7 game with the A's has been moved to 1:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 6. The game will be played as part of a day-night doubleheader with Oakland, with the original Sept. 6 game to be played at the scheduled 7:05 p.m. time.
Sunday, Sept. 7, is the opening game for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, which is also part of the Camden Yards complex. Oriole Park and M&T Bank Stadium share parking lots, and the crowd congestion from both stadiums being in use at the same time would be overwhelming.
The Ravens will take on the Bengals in their season opener at 1 p.m., while the Orioles will have Sunday off before coming back to start a four-game series with the Indians on Monday, Sept. 8.
Tickets dated Sept. 7 will be honored at the 1:05 p.m. game on Sept. 6. Attendance in the nightcap will require a separate ticket, dated Sept. 6. Tickets can be purchased at www.orioles.com.
