Dodgers at the plate: The Dodgers scored four in the third inning on Russell Martin's bases-loaded walk, Andre Ethier's two-run single and Jeff Kent's RBI single.

Red Sox at the plate: The only Boston baserunner over the first six innings was Dustin Pedroia, who walked leading off the game. Bobby Kielty recorded Boston's first hit with a one-out single in the eighth inning.

Dodgers on the mound: Hiroki Kuroda, in his best spring start, struck out six in four hitless innings, allowing one walk leading off the game. Clayton Kershaw retired the first 10 batters he faced until Kielty broke up the no-hitter. Kershaw struck out six in four innings.

Red Sox on the mound: Clay Buchholz struck out four consecutive Dodgers at one point, but also allowed seven consecutive batters to reach base in the four-run third inning -- two on infield singles and one on an error. Kyle Snyder took over and pitched two hitless innings.

Spring records: Dodgers 11-18-4; Red Sox 8-13-2.

Up next for Dodgers: Brad Penny makes the first Opening Day start of his career for the Dodgers on Monday at 1:10 p.m. PT against the Giants and Barry Zito. Manager Joe Torre announced on Sunday that Andre Ethier will be the starting left fielder, winning the competition with Juan Pierre. Rafael Furcal returns to the leadoff spot after spending most of the spring batting second. Barring a trade, rookie Blake DeWitt will start at third base.

Up next for Red Sox: The Red Sox play the Athletics in an opening game for the second time in a week on Tuesday night at 10:05 p.m. ET. Instead of Tokyo, the setting will be Oakland this time around. The pitching matchup will be identical to last Tuesday's game in Tokyo, as Daisuke Matsuzaka gets the ball for the Red Sox and Joe Blanton pitches for Oakland. Both starters had no-decisions last time, as the Sox won the game, 6-5, in 10 innings.
