The White Sox head out on a nine-game, three-city road trip on Monday. But for the South Siders, it may feel like they are already there.

Boston fans have swarmed to U.S. Cellular Field on Friday and Saturday, making the White Sox South Side home feel a lot more like Fenway Park.

The visiting supporters have had plenty to cheer about. The Red Sox outscored the White Sox 21-4 in a doubleheader sweep on Friday before beating Mark Buehrle, 14-2, on Saturday.

Boston has won six of the seven ballgames between the two clubs this season, and goes for the rare four-game sweep in the series finale on Sunday in Chicago.

The good news for the White Sox is that they have their top pitcher in recent weeks, Javier Vazquez, taking the mound.

Vazquez is trying to become the only pitcher in the Major Leagues to record at least 10 wins, 30 starts and 150 strikeouts for the seventh straight season. He needs five more starts and three more strikeouts to extend the streak.

Pitching matchup
CWS: RHP Javier Vazquez (11-6, 3.66 ERA)
Vazquez did not have his top-notch stuff in his last trip to the mound, but came out on the winning side of things nonetheless, throwing six innings, while allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits. Vazquez is 7-1 with a 2.94 ERA in his last 12 starts. He took a win against Boston earlier this season, going 6 1/3 innings and giving up two earned runs. Vazquez is 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA lifetime against the Red Sox.

BOS: RHP Julian Tavarez (6-9, 5.01 ERA)
Tavarez is back in the rotation and making his second straight start after Jon Lester was optioned to Double-A Portland on Thursday. The veteran right-hander started the year in the rotation, but was moved to the bullpen in mid-July. He has not faced the White Sox since Sept. 4, 2006, and is 0-1 with a 3.15 ERA in three career starts against the South Siders.

Player to watch
A.J. Pierzynski seems due for a hit against Tavarez. The White Sox catcher is 0-for-9 in his career against the Boston starter.
