Wright set to open series at Fenway

The Rangers begin the second of their three-series stretch against the best teams in the American League when they play the Boston Red Sox on Friday night at Fenway Park.Jamey Wright pitches for the Rangers in the first of a four-game series against the first-place team in the AL East. The Rangers have already faced the Central-leading Tigers and have a three-game series with the Los Angeles of Anaheim when they get back to Texas on Tuesday. The Rangers are 2-4 against the Red Sox in six games in Arlington and are making their only visit to Fenway Park this season. The Rangers have lost 30 of their last 40 games at Fenway Park and are 72-114 there since 1972. Wright is making his fourth start of the season and his third since coming off the disabled list. Wright is making his first career start against the Red Sox but has faced a few of them in the National League. J.D. Drew is 8-for-25 (.320) off Wright and Alex Cora is 9-for-22 (.409). David Ortiz has just two at-bats against him but one is a home run.
BOS: RHP Tim Wakefield (7-8, 4.52 ERA)
Wakefield suffered a loss in his last start when the Padres belted him around for eight hits and six runs over 5 1/3 innings. In June, the knuckleballer is 2-3 with a 7.06 ERA. Wakefield is 3-3 with a 5.54 ERA at Fenway this season. In his career against the Rangers, he is 8-14 with a 5.85 ERA.
Frank Catalanotto hits well at Fenway Park. He has a career .311 batting average there with five home runs, his most at any ballpark that was never his home park. Tickets
