Felix Hernandez was nothing short of masterful earlier this season against the Red Sox, tossing this season's first complete-game shutout on April 11. The game was on the road, and Hernandez was almost unhittable, allowing just one hit.

One start later, Hernandez was placed on the disbled list, and didn't look the same for quite some time. That is, until his last start against the Pirates, when the 21-year-old even told reporters that he was back. In that start, he allowed Pittsburgh just six hits over eight shutout innings.

Hernandez is 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in two starts against Boston, and has thrown at least seven innings in both appearances.

Red Sox starter Kason Gabbard, making just his second Major League start this season, is 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA in one start, two appearances against the Mariners, both last season. He took the loss in his Major League debut on July 22, 2006, allowing three runs, two earned, in 5 1/3 innings.
