Notes: Pedro to go in Game 1
Little names No. 1 starter, but not ready on 2 and 3
ST. PETERSBURG -- As the inevitable playoff questions came Grady Little's way on Friday afternoon, the manager was only ready to make one definitive announcement.
Ace Pedro Martinez will take the ball for the Red Sox in Game 1 of the Division Series in Oakland on Wednesday.
However, Little wasn't ready to unveil who will pitch the other games in the series, or if he'll use a three- or four-man rotation.
It is all but certain that Derek Lowe and Tim Wakefield will start the next two games. The question is what order they will pitch in.
Though Lowe is the No. 2 starter -- not to mention his team's biggest winner this season -- his home-road splits make this a tough decision.
Lowe was 11-2 with a 3.21 ERA at Fenway Park this season, and 6-5 with a 6.11 ERA on the road.
