Salute to the Negro Leagues

Celebrate with the Kansas City Royals as we pay tribute to the Negro Leagues

On the field, both teams donned Negro Leagues uniforms. The Royals wore Kansas City Monarchs jerseys and the Baltimore Orioles sported those of the Baltimore Black Sox.

The Kansas City Royals wore Monarchs jerseys from the mid-1920s that feature a cream jersey, pants with dark blue pinstripes, and a dark blue "KC" logo on the sleeve. They also wore a cream colored cap with a dark blue bill and a dark blue "M" on the front.

The Baltimore Orioles wore road gray Black Sox jerseys from the late-1920s with the Black Sox logo across the chest. They also wore a black cap with an orange bill and the "circled B" logo on the front.

Dressed To The Nines

In celebration of the Negro Leagues, the Royals have partnered with the Negro League Baseball Museum for the 1st annual "Dressed To The Nines" event. All fans were encouraged to come to Kauffman Stadium wearing their Sunday best to honor the tradition of attending Negro Leagues games Dressed to the Nines!

A portion of ticket purchases support the Negro League Baseball Museum, plus, the first 10,000 fans received a Kansas City Monarchs Fedora!
