    FORT MYERS, Fla. -- It's safe to say that David Ortiz won't duplicate his breakout 2003 campaign, when he belted 31 homers and drove in 101 runs to finish fifth in the AL MVP voting.

    The more logical guess is that Ortiz is going to set new standards in 2004. The left-handed masher is a man on the rise, just like the baseballs he keeps mashing over the fence.

    Ortiz went deep again Sunday afternoon against the Orioles, his fourth homer of the spring and the third in his last three starts.
