Red Sox tickets go on sale Saturday, Jan. 27 01/23/2007 3:51 PM ETMLB.com
BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox will place single-game tickets for most 2007 home games on sale this Saturday morning, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. by phone and internet. To ensure that as many fans as possible can enjoy Red Sox Baseball and Fenway Park in as fair a distribution as possible, the club will allow fans to purchase a maximum of eight tickets per person. To also help distribute tickets most fairly, the club will hold special random drawings for the most sought after games and locations including the nine games against the New York Yankees, Opening Day (Tuesday, April 10 vs. Seattle), Patriots Day (Monday, April 16 vs. Los Angeles Angels), and all tickets on the Green Monster and Right Field Roof Deck areas. Details for the random drawings will be announced next week. Until now, the only tickets available were season tickets, group tickets, Sox Pax, and selected single games that went on sale at Christmas at Fenway in December. Starting this Saturday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m., fans can purchase tickets to most 2007 single-game tickets by touchtone phone or online at redsox.com. The telephone number is (617) 482-4SOX. Fans with disabilities may call (877) REDSOX-9 to purchase accessible seating (while supplies last). The Red Sox' TTY number for hearing-impaired fans is (617) 226-6644. "We continue to be humbled and amazed by the record-setting commitment and support of our fans," said Larry Lucchino, the Red Sox' President/CEO. "That demand fuels our search for new ways to assure that as many regular fans and baseball-loving families can enjoy the experience at Fenway Park as possible. That's why we continue to develop new methods of fair distribution." Tickets will go on sale at the Fenway Park box office on a date to be determined in February. This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs.
