Hood and the Boston Red Sox present the inaugural 2008 Red Sox Kid Nation Captains
Red Sox Nation and Red Sox Kid Nation have spoken! After whittling the entrants down to 25 from almost 700 applications, you voted on who would be the first Kid Nation Captains presented by Hood. The winners are:

The Captains will report to Red Sox Nation President Jerry Remy and Vice President "Regular" Rob Crawford. They will be responsible for making Kid Nation as fun and as interactive as it can possibly be. They will also help develop, organize and implement a new "Kids Helping Kids" charitable program, which will kick off later this season. Hood and the Red Sox are committed to supporting local, civic, educational, cultural and charitable programs in the communities in which they serve.
"It's an exciting time at Fenway, and with so much going on in Red Sox Nation these Captains have a great opportunity to provide a voice for Kid Nation members everywhere," said Red Sox Nation President Jerry Remy. "With their leadership, all of Red Sox Nation is sure to be stronger than ever!"
The 12 winners will be invited to Fenway Park for an inauguration ceremony and a private board meeting with Remy and other Hood and Red Sox personalities. The Captains will also receive a tour of Fenway, premium seating to an upcoming Red Sox game, Hood Red Sox Ice Cream for a year and an exclusive Captains' packet, featuring personalized Red Sox apparel and autographs.
About Red Sox Kid Nation presented by Hood
Red Sox Kid Nation presented by Hood was created in 2004 and has grown to become the largest Kids' Club in Major League Baseball with more than 17,000 members. The club offers young Red Sox fans an opportunity to be a part of the team and enjoy fun contests, gear and discounts for New England products and events. They also have the opportunity to participate in special events and meet Red Sox players.
