blood drive9/11 Day of Remembrance Blood Drive
Boston Red Sox, the American Red Cross, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center join forces each September 11th to honor the memories of those lost in 2001. Fenway Park is one of many sites in Boston that opens it doors to those who want to give blood. According to the American Red Cross, the 9/11 Day of Remembrance Blood Drive has now become the largest single-day, multi-location blood drive across New England.
Babe Ruth Coaches Clinic
Since 1969 the Boston Red Sox have invited the regional Babe Ruth Coaches to participate in a clinic at Fenway Park. Throughout the morning the Babe Ruth coaches are given the opportunity to meet with and receive instructional guidance from the Boston Red Sox Major League staff. Later in the day the coaches are invited back to watch the game. Coaches should contact their local Babe Ruth chapter for more information about attending the event.
Baseball Tomorrow Fund
The Boston Red Sox are proud to partner with Major League Baseball in the Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive. Since 2005, the Red Sox have collected new and used equipment prior to select home games. Items are then donated to local youth baseball organizations.

Each season the Boston Red Sox welcome children (preselected by UmpsCare) to Fenway Park. This program was created by Major League Baseball and Umps Care Charities (formally Blue for Kid's) to allow children awaiting adoption and within youth mentoring program to experience a Major League Baseball game in a very unique way. The children are invited to attend batting practice and meet with the umpire crew for the day on-field pre-game.
clinic_150x95CVS Hitting Clinic
CVS Caremark and the Boston Red Sox are pleased to partner on the annual CVS Caremark All Kids Can Baseball Camps at Fenway Park. These clinics are an opportunity for children with physical and/or developmental disabilities to take the field at Fenway. Each team is given the opportunity to participate in batting practice with Red Sox Batting Coach Dave Magadan, meet Wally the Green Monster, eat lunch in the dugouts and take a VIP tour of Fenway. Later that day, they are invited back to watch the Red Sox take batting practice and to enjoy the game with free tickets in the CVS Family section.
Disability Awareness
The Boston Red Sox, EP Global Communications, Inc. and the EP Foundation for Education annually recognize the members of our community for the encouragements and contributions they make everyday to improving the lives of people with disabilities. These individuals have committed themselves to the comfort, equality and future of the disabled members of the community. Those elected are recognized on-field during the pregame ceremonies.
jackie_robinson_tribute_150x95Jackie Robinson Day
The Red Sox initiative to celebrate the life of Jackie Robinson was launched in 2003 after the ownership group led by John W. Henry, Tom Werner and Larry Lucchino purchased the club the previous year. This celebration was originally designed to teach children about the life, career, and character of the baseball pioneer on his birthday. In 2008, the celebration was expanded to include an evening event geared toward adult audiences where special guests discussed the continuing significance of Jackie Robinson's life in professional sports and society at large. That same day more 150 area youth from the city-wide after-school programs of the Boston Centers for Youth and Families along with students from the Red Sox Scholars program and RBI Program were invited to learn about Jackie Robinson. Throughout the program several local and national professionals speak with the youngsters about the life and importance of Jackie Robinson.
Library Day
Each season the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Public Library Foundation offer Massachusetts children the opportunity to "Read Your Way to Fenway." Kids between the ages of 5 and 17 are asked to read three books and write an essay about their favorite book. Winners receive tickets to the Library Day game and are recognized for their achievements during pre-game ceremonies.
Latino Youth Recognition Nights
Each season the Boston Red Sox and El Mundo Newspaper honor top Latino middle school students from across Massachusetts as Latino All-Scholastic All-Stars. The School Departments of Boston, Cambridge, Chelsea, Lynn, Lawrence, Springfield, Holyoke and Malden provide a list qualified students. Candidates must be of Latino origin, have a good school attendance record and a "B+" or above academic record. These students are invited to select games throughout the season and are recognized during the pre-game ceremony for their outstanding academic achievements.
Medical All-Star
Every Friday night throughout the season, the Red Sox recognize an outstanding member of the medical community during the pre-game ceremony that is heroically searching for a cure and fighting disease within their respective field. Participants are selected by the Community Relations Department.
Buses for BaseballMLB Action Team/Buses for Baseball
In conjunction with Buses for Baseball, the Boston Red Sox are proud to welcome an area Action Team and Major League Baseball Players Trust to Fenway Park. During a pre-game ceremony the Red Sox organization and players recognize an area Action Team who is dedicated to community service and volunteering. The members of the teams take a pledge to spread a positive message about the importance of community service and volunteering to youth throughout their area.
Most Valuable Teacher
The Boston Red Sox in conjunction with Massachusetts Teacher Association are proud to honor local high school teachers as a Most Valuable Teacher. The program allows Massachusetts high school students (grades 9-12) to write an essay explaining why his/her teacher, coach or mentor should be honored as an MVT at Fenway Park. Participants are selected by the Community Relations Department.
Play It Smart When It Comes to the Sun
Each year the Boston Red Sox, The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and MLB have teamed up for "Play Smart When It Comes to the Sun," a skin cancer awareness initiative. This program is designed to create awareness about proper skin care and protection against the harmful UV rays. Fans attending the select game will be given tips on staying safe in the sun.
picnic_150x95Picnic in the Park
This annual fan-favorite gives families a chance to picnic on the field at Fenway while supporting the Red Sox Foundation. The event begins with a half-hour autograph session with Red Sox players, coaches and managers. Guests then receive a goodie bag with a new picnic blanket and a fabulous barbeque dinner. They also enjoy entertainment and participate in an extraordinary auction with one-of-a-kind items specially donated by the Red Sox Players and their Wives.

The Boston Red Sox are proud to annually host the Pitch, Hit & Run competition. PHR is an official program of Major League Baseball designed to promote participation in baseball and sports. Each season, boys and girls ages 7-14 compete on the local, regional and national level for a chance to attend the All-Star Game and be recognized for their skills.
Prostate Cancer Foundation Home Run Challenge
Annually players across Major League Baseball team up in support of prostate cancer research. During select games throughout the season, every homerun hit helps raise money for prostate cancer awareness and research. In 2008 the Red Sox were represented by David Ortiz, Sean Casey and Manager Terry Francona.
Roberto Clemente Award Day
Every September, each MLB team recognizes a player who best represents the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions to their teams. The award, sponsored by MLB, is named for Roberto Clemente, a 12-time All-Star and Hall of Famer who died while attempting to deliver supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. This award perpetuates Clemente's legacy and character by recognizing current-day players who truly understand the value of helping others.

This program, created in 2008 as Seats for Soldiers, gives season ticket holders the opportunity to donate their tickets to a select game to members of the United States Armed Forces. Tickets for Troops is a unique chance for the Boston Red Sox Organization and fans alike to show their support and gratitude to members of the United States Armed Forces.
Stop-N-Shop Community Corner Program
The Boston Red Sox and Stop-N-Shop are proud to team up on this unique ticket experience. Each season the Red Sox and SNS work together to provide over 10,000 tickets to various children's organizations throughout New England, giving them the opportunity to bring their group to Fenway.
