Who makes an IMPACT in your state? Vote now to recognize an outstanding local non-profit and they could win an award from the Red Sox Foundation.
The First Place Impact Award Winners in each state for 2016 are below:
In 2015, the Red Sox Foundation introduced a new initiative, The IMPACT Awards, which provided Red Sox fans in the surrounding New England states with the opportunity to support their favorite non-profits in their home states by casting their vote to help decide which organizations will win one of the available awards.
In 2017, the Red Sox Foundation will once again be recognizing deserving charitable organizations with IMPACT Awards. The three eligible charitable organizations in each of the five New England states surrounding Massachusetts (CT, ME, NH, RI, VT) that receive the most votes will receive an IMPACT Award1. In total, fifteen organizations will share a contribution of $75,000.
All fans that are currently registered to receive commercial emails from the Red Sox are eligible to cast a vote for their favorite charitable organization within their home state. Fans that are not currently registered to receive commercial emails may opt-in through the form below and submit a vote2. Non-profit organizations can opt-in to vote for their organization as well. In addition, votes from Red Sox Season Ticket Holders, members of the Red Sox Nation or Kid Nation fan clubs, and donors to the Red Sox Foundation will count twice towards the vote totals. To cast your vote please fill out the form below, and use the password provided to you via email3. If you are a member of one of the groups listed above but did not receive your password, please contact email@example.com.
The 2017 deadlines to vote for each state are below:
As the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox, the Red Sox Foundation's mission is to serve the health, education, recreation, and social service needs of children, families and veterans in need across New England. Founded in 2002, the Red Sox Foundation has committed over $82M to charitable activity and operations making it one of the largest team charities in all professional sports.
1 To be eligible to receive an IMPACT award, an organization must be a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity in good standing, and its work must be consistent with the Red Sox Foundation's mission statement. The non-profit can nominate their own organization by completing the form and using the password provided. In addition, organizations that have received a donation from the Red Sox Foundation of $10,000 or more during the 2015 or 2016 calendar years are ineligible to receive an award (the 2015 and 2016 First Place IMPACT Award winners are not eligible to win again in 2017). The Red Sox Foundation will vet all nominated organizations and will determine, in its sole discretion, whether an organization is eligible.
2 If you are not currently registered to receive commercial emails from the Red Sox but would like to cast a vote, you may provide your email address above and keep the box checked to receive commercial emails and use the password GEN1396 in the form.
3 Each password may only be used by each individual once. If votes are cast by an individual using the same password for multiple organizations then the first organization nominated will be counted. Multiple votes cast for the same organization by the same individual will be disregarded.
4 Fans may only vote for a charity with a primary office in the same state as their state of residence.
