A message from mini Fenway Park CEO Ron Iacobucci

OCTOBER 6, 2009: "There have been some exciting developments with the mini Fenway Park project over the past few months that I would like to share with all of our supporters. As you are probably aware, unforeseeable environmental issues at our original Quincy location have lead to an extended delay of our scheduled groundbreaking. As a result, we have been obligated to look for alternative sites. After carefully reviewing several viable options throughout Massachusetts, I am happy to announce that we have chosen to accept an opportunity offered by the Town of North Attleboro!

North Attleboro has truly stepped up to the plate and offered us a perfect parcel of land that meets all of the project's criteria and is conveniently located just 1.5 miles from the junction of Interstate 495 and 95. We are currently working with the Town to finalize the public/private partnership for the land, which will be followed by a site plan review and permitting process. As long as all goes as planned, we will begin construction of mini Fenway Park during the 2010 baseball season!

We have updated our FAQ page on this website to provide you with new details and we promise more frequent updates as we move the project forward.

I want to thank you all for your continued support of the mini Fenway Park project! We are confident that we can now make "where dreams play" come true for both kids and grown-ups alike!

As always, our nonprofit organization welcomes your support and questions. Please feel free to call me any time at 617-471-3332 ext. 3 or e-mail ron.iacobucci@minifenwaypark.org.

Thanks to a dedicated mini Fenway Park Team that continues to persevere and will never give up, I encourage everyone to believe!

p.s. -- Please know that with this announcement we are not giving up on our Quincy site. We plan to work with local and state officials to submit a revised conceptual design that will avoid environmental concerns and eventually build a youth baseball field that is a good fit for the site.

MAY 14, 2009: "We are very grateful for your continued interest and support of the mini Fenway Park Project. A special thank you to those of you who have purchased a Fenway Park Plate! The project featured on this website has been on hold for more than two years due to environmental concerns.

"This baseball season we are hopeful to have an announcement that will move the project forward. At that time we will update this website with all the details. When our project first began it was like the 1967 Red Sox, "The Impossible Dream." As the project progressed and we achieved significant milestones it became more like the 2004 Red Sox: Believe! Our message now is simple... Don't stop believing! Thank you."
